Officially a Verified Goodreads Author!

21:24:00 0

Good evening, good evening, good evening!

(As Stephen Fry says to open up almost every QI episode)

Good evening everyone!

I just want to say wow! Wow, wow, wow, wow, and wow again! I am officially a Goodreads author! It has honestly got me really excited and I'm not too sure why. Guess it's because I'm proud I can join the community on Goodreads in such a way and it also shows that my work for my EPQ has paid off!

If you don't know who or what Goodreads are, here's a little explanation:

"Goodreads is the world’s largest site for readers and book recommendations. Our mission is to help people find and share books they love. Goodreads launched in January 2007."
(According to Goodreads themselves -

And here are a few things you can do on Goodreads:

  • See which books your friends are reading.
  • Track the books you're reading, have read, and want to read.
  • Check out your personalized book recommendations. Our recommendation engine analyzes 20 billion data points to give suggestions tailored to your literary tastes.
  • Find out if a book is a good fit for you from our community’s reviews.
I joined Goodreads in May 2014 and, along with over 40 million other users, I have been posting updates about the books I am currently reading, own, and would like to read. For someone who loves to read and who loves books in general it is a great website and community to be a part of. So you can only imagine my excitement when I got the email through telling me that I was officially a verified Goodreads author!
You should know by now that, on August 20th, I have my script coming out. You can already pre-order it on Amazon! (Click here to PRE-ORDER MISSION: BLITZ NOW!) And, although the script has been self-published through Kindle Direct Publishing, I am very proud and excited for it to be released. I had previously searched for my book on Goodreads simply out of pure curiosity but never seemed to find it for some reason until I found you could add a book if you couldn't find it. When I tried to type the ASIN number(almost the equivalent to a ISBN number but for e-books I think) into the details it came up saying that that book already existed in the Goodreads database and told me to type it in to the search. So I did and there it was... MY BOOK IN THE GOODREADS DATABASE! I hadn't expected to find it at all. Unfortunately at the time it didn't recognise that I was the author but it was easy for me to apply to show that I was. A day later the e-mail came through and now here it is:

It would be great if you have a Goodreads account to follow me! Add me as a friend a well if you like! If you don't have an account, why don't you make one? I am extremely excited about all this so thank you for all your support you have given me so far and it would be great if you'd continue with it, it really helps me a lot!

Thank you for everything!

Currently Reconstructing My Life

21:21:00 0
Regular Blogging Day No.2

Hello everyone!

My regular blogging probably won't continue to be this regular but it's a nice start. Today I just wanted to expand a little on the final paragraphs of yesterdays post. I plan on making some changes. If you follow me on any of my social networking site (Instagram and Twitter) then you may have noticed that my bio's say "currently reconstructing my life" and that I am. Kind of anyway. I spent my entire life sure of exactly what I was doing and when I would do it, and most of the things I wanted to do would get put off 'until I have finished uni'. Obviously I am no longer going to uni, at least not for this year, so I thought it was about time I started doing some of those things I keep wanting to do!
I have another post planned for gap year goals but for now I just wanted to mention a few changes that are about to take action. Firstly, now that college is finished and I have been on holiday, I need to find a job. It is that time to start earning some money and I am definitely going to need it for some of the things I have planned. I have already applied to a number of places online and been around my town handing in my CV (which isn't really a proper professional one, but it still has everything that needs to be on it and the layout makes it easy to read). So far I haven't had anything back from anyone unfortunately. Luckily I still have my Saturday job to tide me over. Annoyingly, my money is still getting paid out to my driving lessons/test. Hopefully I shall have a job soon.
I have spent today sorting/boxing my room. I'm the sort of person who doesn't like to stay in the same place for a long time so my bedroom is a key thing that I try to change at least once a year. Last year I got a new shelf put up and desk type thing made to put on top of my set of drawers. This year I hadn't planned to change anything other than possibly getting a new wardrobe but I would have to save up for that. Until my mum got me thinking. I now have plans of using some of my old shelves to create a bunch of smaller ones and place them on the wall where my current wardrobe is. I am then going to save up for a new larger wardrobe to put in place of my old shelves. My TV needs a swivel bracket as I plan of moving my bed round and my drawers are going to become even more of a desk. This has meant that I have to box everything away so I am able to move everything else around as I please. I'm actually kind of excited to make it happen but I have to wait until my parents are back from York and have one all their jobs.
Once I am finally settled in a new job and have my bedroom completely sorted, I am free to spend any time that I have doing what I want. More YouTube videos shall be coming your way as I've mentioned previously. More blog posts. I began to write a book just before I went on holiday so I shall continue with that. I am going to begin research for a new script. Of course I wish to get fitter and I plan to train for a certain event, whether that's a Race for Life or Tough Mudder, I'm not sure yet. I have a list full of the things I'd like to do. I shall post that list on here once I have properly sat down and thought thoroughly about it. In the meantime though, my head is on overdrive and I'm either incredibly motivated or the complete opposite. Honestly, I just want to be back in Mexico where the word 'job' didn't exist for me. It shall all soon go away, hopefully!
Finally, I plan to completely reconstruct my blog. New colour scheme, new fonts, new banner, etc. I also need to remember to use more images in my posts. As I post a YouTube video I shall blog about it giving any reasons for why I decided to do it and also just generally for a little advertisement. Summer Weekly vlogs may start up again when I start doing some interesting things and they may even continue throughout my gap year. We shall see. Not much have been fully decided on yet as it is still early days but I plan to enjoy myself as much as possible no matter what I do. Might as well make the most of my year out!

Well that's all for now and I shall be back sooner than normal!
Have a great night, whatever you're doing!

Knee Cramps and Updating Pains

23:00:00 0
Well my plans for the last hour didn't exactly go to plan...

Good evening!
(It's night time now but I don't like saying good night until myself or someone else is going to bed, it just doesn't feel right.)

It has been Saturday today. So, like any other Saturday, I have been working and although I don't hate working where I do, I almost hate what I have to do. I have to admit, my job is relatively easy, but I struggle with what should be the easiest part - standing up. I know to stand behind a counter is pretty easy for the majority of people, however when you're stood behind that counter for 8 consecutive hours, it gets a little more difficult. You'd think after two years of working there I'd be used to it. Well, apparently not. I had planned to right a little blog tonight, read some of my book etcetera etcetera. But when it came round to getting my laptop out, my plans came to a halt.
Firstly, my laptop. Does anyone else absolutely hate a Windows update? Yes? I thought so. Usually, as much as I dislike it, it does normally take that long on my laptop. Today, however, the configuration kept failing so it managed to restart itself at least 10 to 15 times. Along with that, whilst I was patiently waiting, my leg begins to cramp up. Now I get cramp probably more than the average person because apparently, according to a foot doctor, I have something wrong with my synovial fluid in my knee which causes the bones in my leg to rub a little more than they should. It's a genetic thing. I have been know to get cramp since I was a kid. When your parents told you that the cramp you felt was growing pains, it was a LIE! As I mentioned, I spend every Saturday standing up for pretty much 8 consecutive hours. I do get a break but I reckon I get a maximum of 15 minutes actually sat down. So tonight, whilst my laptop was trying and failing to update properly, my knees were beginning with my weekly Saturday cramp until I was led on my bed crying in agony. If you've never had it, it's like period pains but in a part of your body you can't curl over and push inwards in hopes to make it go away. A single move of the leg and I get a shock straight into my foot. Tonight it was my right knee that had the problem and it can only be cured by a glass of water to help two paracetamol go down. While I wait for them to kick in, I continue to lie horribly still.

Annoyingly, that was not what I had planned to blog tonight. I was going to talk about what's to come. I have a Mexico video on it's way and the corresponding review, there is also a number of blog lined up that I wish to do from various other reviews (books, CDs, movies, etc.) to talks about general life. As you may know by now, I am not going to university this year so be prepared for numerous blogs about random crap. Plus, since I'm not going to uni, the job applications have begun to be sent off so let us see where that takes us.

Between this week just gone and the next, I reckon everyone will be on their summer holidays (unless of course you work in a full-time job that isn't at a school, college or uni) so I am going to wish you all a happy, fun-filled summer holidays. I hope you all have wonderful holidays abroad, in England or just generally enjoy yourself, whatever you're doing!

See you later!
- KC :D xx

PS. YouTube videos will be starting up again this week at some point, so watch out for them! (
