July Round Up

July, you have been wonderful. The weather has been great. I listened to some great live music, seen some lovely places, and best of all, read some amazing books! I have explored the world of book reviewing and bookstagramming and have loved every minute of it. I bought plenty of books and found myself itching to buy even more. I no longer have any shelf space. I have been inspired to write and research more than ever before, and I'm now just genuinely excited for the years ahead.

To continue expressing my love of books, I wanted to do a quick July round up of all the books I've read (I suppose it won't be so quick since I've read or listened to quite a few). Hopefully you'll find something you'd like to read or have already read!

BOOKS READ IN JULY 2018
(In no particular order!)

Hollow Earth - John and Carole E. Barrowman
Audiobook

I have a new obsession with BorrowBox. You can use it for free as long as you are signed up to your local library (providing your library use it, which I'm sure most do) and there is a whole selection of eBooks and audiobooks you can loan out. Hollow Earth was recommended to me by my mum so I thought I'd give it ago! I quite enjoyed it! Full review coming soon!

Glass Sword - Victoria Aveyard
Paperback

I struggled to get into this and have actually been reading it for a long time. In the end I quite enjoyed it though! Read my full review here.

Rapture - Lauren Kate
Mixture of audiobook and paperback

I can't believe it has taken me so long to actually read this book. I read the first three years ago (including Fallen in Love) and for some reason just never got round to the final book even though it's been sat on my shelves this whole time. Thanks to BorrowBox, I finally started it and finished it. I kind of wish I had read it when I read the others as reading it now made it feel a little childish but I still really enjoyed the story.

Cupid's Bow - Brenda Jackson
Audiobook

This was just a short audiobook I chose to be able to listen to on a long drive down to Stratford-Upon-Avon. It's a cute love story kind of thing. Listening to the audiobook felt like I was watching a heartwarming romcom on TV or something. Exactly what I needed!

Lost for Words - Stephanie Butland
Audiobook

I found out about this book through Readers First and thought it would be a good idea to try and listen to it and luckily it was on Borrow Box. I must admit, it was not what I expected at all. I guess you could say I was expecting a love story again but that wasn't exactly what I got. You can read my full review here!

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix - J.K. Rowling
Paperback

If you're a book lover like me then I'm sure I don't need to tell you how good Harry Potter is. Of course this was a reread and I loved every minute of it. I'm itching to pick up the sixth book now but trying to hold off while I get some other books read. I'm sure it won't be long until I can't resist any longer!

The Winner's Curse - Marie Rutkoski
Paperback

This was a reread as I was going to finish the series but then realised I couldn't remember what had happened in the last two books. I remember really enjoying the book so what harm would it do to pick it up once again! I thoroughly enjoy it a second time round! You can read my full review here!

The Gray Wolf Throne - Cinda Williams Chima
The Crimson Crown  - Cinda Williams Chima
Paperback

I can't seem to stop singing praises for this series. I finished the last two in early July and hate that it is finished. I was so glad to hear that Cinda Williams Chima has brought out a new series that follows on from the event that happen in these and I can't wait to buy them and read them all! You can read my review of the Seven Realms series here!

TOTAL BOOKS READ/LISTENED TO: 9

It has been so nice properly getting back into reading after so long. Now I'm even more eager to keep on reading more and more every day! So many books in my TBR list and so many more that keep getting added!

Look out for more reviews!

Until the next book...
